Spring Events

2021 Speech Events

2020 Speech Events will remain the same for next season. 2021 Speech rules will be published by mid-May. For the 2021 season, a student may use his/her own platform or interp speech that was prepared and/or delivered during the 2020 season. The speech will need to be in compliance with 2021 rules and must qualify during the 2021 season to any higher level of competition. 

2021 Debate Resolutions  

Resolution Voting closed on 5/1.

Winning resolutions will be announced the week of 5/4.

Club Leaders' Virtual Coffee  

Club leaders, watch your inbox for an invitation to these virtual events! The style of these events will include online forums and breakout groups for continued discussion. Save the dates: April 13th and 16th, May 11th and 14th, and June 8th and 11th.

Online Events

The Calvin Coolidge Foundation is hosting an online qualifier for their 2020 Coolidge Cup. The resolution for this online qualifier runs from April 15 - May 16. A total of $15,000 in scholarship prize money is awarded to the top finishers of the 2020 Coolidge Cup.

Fearless Apologetics with Chap Bettis. Ready to dig into Apologetics preparation for next season? Check out Chap Bettis' resources for NCFCA students, parents, and coaches.

  • Student Workbook: Break down all of the apologetics questions into 24 manageable topics.
  • Coach Guide/Course: Includes week by week lesson plans, Chap's teaching notes, and tips relevant to club coaches.
  • 24 Online Videos/Audio Lectures: Videos are constructed to parallel the Fearless Apologetics Workbook and go indepth on the content of each topic. Over 9 hours of teaching!

Ace Peak and Ziggy Online Debate have teamed up to provide a rigorous online national tournament series, which consists of a 4-day online qualifying tournament and a 4-day online national championship tournament. There will be 6 preliminary rounds and full outrounds going all the way to finals for both TP and LD.

  • The Online Qualifier (for NCFCA Students) will be from May 13–16. Registration is now open.
  • The Online Championship (for NCFCA Students) will be from June 17–20. Registration will open May 17.

Both tournaments will use the current NCFCA resolutions to help our students give this season a proper sendoff. 

Nothing can possibly replace a week of in-person competition with the greatest competitors in the country. But we embrace the opportunity to continue competing in speech & debate during these historic times.
