Q. What is NCFCA all about?
A. The National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA) believes that formal speech and debate can provide a means for home schooled students to learn and exercise analytical and oratorical skills, addressing life issues from a Biblical worldview in a manner that glorifies God.

 

To provide these opportunities to home schooled students, NCFCA shall facilitate qualifying tournaments throughout the country and the annual National Championship.

 

 

Q. What are the debate topics for the 2007-2008 season?

A. NCFCA offers both Team Policy and Lincoln Douglas Values debate. The Team Policy topic is reform of illegal immigration policy. The LD Values topic concerns the U.S. government's valuing of isolationism. The exact wording is located on the debate page.

 

 

Q. Who can participate in NCFCA tournaments?
A.
Home-schooled students age 12 to 18 on January 1, 2008. Click here for more info regarding eligibility. An Eligibility FAQ is also available for clarification of some eligibility questions.

 

 

Q. How can I register with NCFCA?

A. To register with NCFCA, fill out and mail in the Affiliate Application.  Click here to read the registration FAQ for the 2007-2008 season.

 

 

Q. Who runs NCFCA?
A. NCFCA is a non-profit organization that is governed by a board and has state reps in 33 states.

 

Q. What types of events are available in NCFCA?
A.
  NCFCA has developed a speech program and debate program for NCFCA Affiliate Families. Full descriptions of the Individual Events can be found on the Speech page, and information on the debate program can be found on the Debate page. For a brief summary of each event, click here

 

Q. What types of tournaments are available in NCFCA?

  NCFCA is developing a system of local and regional tournaments to best serve the needs of NCFCA Affiliate families. For details on the tournament structure, click here

 

 

Q. How do I find out about local NCFCA tournaments?

  Please contact your State Representative or Regional Coordinator for tournament information.  Contact information is available on our Local Contacts page.

 

 

Q. What speech events are available?
A.
Many different Individual Events (platform, interpretive, and limited preparation) are available. You can find explanations and rules for each event on the speech page.

 

Q. Does NCFCA have a video/audio recording policy?

A. Yes.  The NCFCA video/audio recording policy, which is published each year in the National Championship program, may also be accessed here.
