2014-2015 NCFCA Platform Events include After Dinner Speaking, Illustrated Oratory, Informative Speaking, and Persuasive Speaking. 

The purpose of the Platform category is to train the student to research, assemble and communicate a prepared speech that would appeal to a variety of audiences.

The topic of each speech is chosen by the student.

An After Dinner speech is an original humorous platform speech that informs or attempts to persuade the audience on a noteworthy topic.

An Informative speech is an original platform speech on any topic the speaker chooses. The primary goals of the speech are to inform, instruct, and/or inspire.
