Before each round of an NCFCA tournament, the tournament administration will offer a judge orientation. All judges need to have attended an NCFCA orientation session before they judge at a tournament.
NCFCA utilizes judge orientations in order to make lay judges feel comfortable adjudicating the round, to inform judges from other leagues of the unique NCFCA mission and rules, and to ensure that experienced judges from within the league are equipped with the latest information.
These orientations are standard across all NCFCA sanctioned tournaments to ensure that competitors are not facing different sets of judging criteria or expectations from tournament to tournament within the league. Consistency in judge orientation is essential to fair competition.
