Regions

NCFCA is divided into 10 competition regions within the United States where Affiliate families normally compete according to their residence.  If a competitor's needs are better met by affiliating in a different region, region reassignment is an option made available during the registration process.  (Note that a competitor may compete in only one region for a competition season.)

Benefits

NCFCA's regional system carries exceptional benefits which make it ideal for many families. Local competition events build a sense of community and cohesiveness among students, clubs and local NCFCA leadership. This contributes to growth and excitement as people look forward to working, competing, and fellowshipping with friends they've made over the years.  Holding these tournaments relatively close to home also helps budget-conscious families conserve their resources.

Additionally, participating in a regional system provides opportunity for students to progress to higher levels of competition as their skills develop.  Approximately the top half of competitors in any given Qualifying Tournament will move on to compete in their Region's prestigious Invitational Tournament. This allows a greater number of students to achieve a level of success while still holding to the elite status of the NCFCA National Championship. Garnering an invitation to the Regional Invitational serves as a measurable achievement for high school transcripts and affords students another opportunity to sharpen their communication skills with more advanced competition as they look forward to the possibility of earning an invitation to the National Championship.

This Regional system also allows Affiliates the opportunity to elect to NCFCA leadership individuals that they know and respect to serve on the Regional Leadership Team, This team actively administrates NCFCA’s programs in the area, provides support to local forensics families, and advocates for both NCFCA policies and the interests and needs of their region’s Affiliate families.
